Take on the role of the great leaders of the past to build your own Ancient City. Each player uses their gold each round to build tiles that grow their city's economy. A city that produces more food and trades creates more residents. Grow your city!

There are 5 types of buildings, and each of them provides a type of resource that will allow your city to evolve from a simple settlement to the largest city in the world. If your buildings are completely enclosed from all sides, you have created a very well-planned city block. This will earn you a lot of points.

To place new buildings in your city, you also need a lot of roads. Adjacent roads allow you to place buildings further on the map. This gives you access to natural resources, which, in addition to other benefits, also provide victory points.

Just as important as the buildings are the monuments and wonder tokens. These give you a lot of victory points, but use up all your gold. Be wise in choosing where and when you place them. Each monument requires buildings, roads, natural resources, or even water nearby to place it. It won't be easy to place them in your city, but the benefits are great.

If you run out of gold, your turn is over. Once all players have spent their gold, a new round begins and new buildings and roads are available to everyone.

Ultimately, once a player reaches the maximum population limit, the leader of the best city in the ancient world will be the winner of World Wonders!
