Salton Sea - Board Game (ENG)

Description

The Salton Sea is a unique location in California, near the Mexican border. This salt lake has unique properties that make it a perfect location for geothermal energy generation, which harnesses the Earth's heat. In this area of intense geothermal activity, drilling is done to extract steam and hot water. This process extracts lithium from the earth and sells it as part of a modern industry, far removed from fossil fuels. This will lead the energy transition to a fully renewable future.

Designed by David Bernal and illustrated by Amelia Sales, Salton Sea can be played solo or in groups of up to four players in sessions of approximately 120 minutes. During the game, players manage their geothermal lithium mining operations to earn the most points.

Mining and processing this material will be the driving force behind your business. On your turn, you place one of your four engineers on one of the available action spaces. There are three different groups of actions: Industrial actions: These actions allow you to obtain an exploration license, drill, mine lithium, process it, or repair machinery.

It's up to you to manage the engineers at every point in the game to maximize your company's potential. However, there's no single path to success. The game rewards you for depleted land, completed contracts, short-term goals, business development, or research. Will you be able to harness the power of the Salton Sea and create the most efficient geothermal company?
