The Golden Ludo is the Flemish Games Award. The award was called in 2009 in the level by the gaming association FORUM-Federation vzw . The prize is awarded to Dutch-language games that also easily end up on the Flemish market. Since 2016, there are two main prizes to win, namely for ' family ' and ' expert '.

How does the Golden Ludo work?

To qualify for a Golden Ludo, the game must first be nominated. This is usually done by the publishers themselves. Of course, they must comply with some rules. For example, they must have been released within the time frame. For the Golden Ludo 2024, this runs from July 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024. Once the game has been nominated, the game will be actively promoted and played on the game nights of FORUM-Fedratie vzw, so that all members and visitors can play it and evaluate the game.

Based on these evaluations, the organization will nominate three games in both categories in early September 2024. All game enthusiasts can then further test and evaluate the games. And that will result in two winners, who will be announced at SPEL 2024.
