At the end of the 19th century, in the early Meiji period, Japan opened its first railway line between Shimbashi and Yokohama. This new way of traveling unleashed a railway boom across the country.

Local entrepreneurs and later powerful tycoons founded new companies that grew into major railway companies during the Taishō and Shōwa periods.

As players, you take on the role of these tycoons and build and manage your own railway empire, competing for the most fame.

Railway Boom brings this industrial era back to life by having players balance resource management with the growth of their railways, connecting different cities in Japan.
