Checkered Rows - Card Game

Description

At the start of the game, each player is randomly given three life tokens and two spare cards, which they place face up in front of them. You are then given a hand of cards whose order you are not allowed to change.

The starting player for a round begins by playing a combination of up to three cards, and these cards must be next to each other in that player's hand. A player can lay down a single card, a pair, a triple or a series of two or three consecutive cards.

Each player in turn must beat the combination, with a pair being defeated by a higher pair or a triple. If you can't or don't want to play, instead take one of your spare cards and place it anywhere in your hand. If you run out of spare cards, you must discard a life token.

Once each player has played or passed, the one who played the highest combination wins that round and then the next round begins. If a player must discard a life token but does not have one, that player loses the game and the rest win.
