Of all the streets of the Eixample, Passeig de Gràcia is the most iconic. Initially it was just a road connecting Barcelona with the former city of Gràcia, now an important district of Barcelona. It became a promenade where the citizens of Barcelona went to relax, and was filled with restaurants, coffee houses, dance halls, theaters, parks and even roller coasters. Unfortunately, these facilities were only available to the upper and middle classes, as they were often part of private gardens.
When construction of the Eixample began, all these features were removed to make way for buildings, but this did not diminish the importance of Passeig de Gràcia. Many wealthy citizens decided to build their homes there, hiring the most famous modernist architects, who created some of the city's most iconic landmarks.
Barcelona: Passeig de Gràcia is an expansion for Barcelona, so you'll need a copy of the base game to play it. The new elements brought by this extension are pedestrians walking along Passeig de Gràcia and enjoying the various amenities there. The more enjoyable their walk, the greater the rewards you'll receive once they reach their destination.
