All players start a game of FYFE with the same board. During the game, they decide not only which tokens to use, but also how to score them. In each round, they have the choice of placing one of two tokens. If there is no scoreboard pointing from the edge of the player board to the token just placed (vertically, horizontally, or from one of the two diagonals at the top of the board), a scoreboard must be placed immediately. Players can choose from one of their remaining 15 scoreboards. Once a scoreboard is completed, it is turned over. The first to complete a task receives extra points. Bonus points also await if placing a single token completes two, three, or even four scoreboards. Good planning and choosing the right moment to place the wooden pieces and scoreboards pays off in this abstract tile-laying game by Kosch. You need an eye for space and carrying capacity to assess whether a donkey full of luggage is strong enough to walk the steep route of the Grand Canyon.
