Imperial Miners is a light engine building card game for 1 to 5 players, designed by Tim Armstrong (Arcana Rising, Orbis), where players mine mines using a smart card activation system. Set in the popular Imperial Settlers universe, this standalone game features beautiful artwork, easy-to-understand rules, and satisfying gameplay full of chain reactions and engine building synergies.
In Imperial Miners, players create their own mines by playing cards in their personal tableau. They start at the surface and develop downwards. Whenever a card is added to their mine, it activates itself and all cards above it, rewarding players with satisfying chain reactions and combos. The cards belong to six different factions and offer different strategies. Players mix different factions in their mines to get the best results.
As they develop their mines, players also progress on progression maps. At setup, three of the six available progress cards are randomly chosen for the game. These cards each offer a different strategic focus. Throughout the game, players progress to gain additional bonuses that help them develop their tableau, activate the synergies between cards, gain victory points and achieve even more satisfying combos. The combination of progression cards influences strategies and ensures that the game is different every time you play.
Imperial Miners offers impressive replayability thanks to a wide range of different maps and modular progression maps. Players also take their turns at the same time, so the gameplay is fast and lasts no longer than 45 minutes. The simple rules, beautiful artwork and rewarding engine building mechanics make it a perfect game for both casual and experienced players.
