Arthur and Mordred fell on the battlefield of Camlann. Arthur’s body was taken to Avalon, but unbeknownst to the fey, Mordred followed, for King Arthur's broken son is not dead. Through forbidden knowledge, his body endured the wounds of Excalibur and through hidden paths, found his way to Avalon. Now the veil between the magical and the mundane is pierced, and the wound calls like a beacon. The way is open and all with the gift can now see it. They come: some to desecrate the land, others to defend it.

In Avalon: The Riven Veil, an area control and exploration game based on the Arthurian legends, you lead powerful factions through the misty veil to discover what awaits you on the mystical island of Avalon. Explore the mists, discover legendary items of power, forge bonds with mythical beasts, hunt for the grail, and prepare for war.

The game ends when you reach the end of the final season, Season 2 or 3 depending on the chosen playtime. Each player receives victory points from the revealed settlement spaces on their faction board. The player with the most victory points at the end of that season wins the game.
